Rob O'Brien, Ph.D., President and CSO, was a professor in Analytical Chemistry for over 13 years and has more than 25 years of experience in analytical chemistry. An expert in analytical instrumentation, he has set up a number of advanced analytical laboratories and has held an executive position in a number of commercial enterprises. Dr. O'Brien possesses a track record of successful commercialization of intellectual property developed from academic research. During his academic career, Dr. O'Brien secured over 3 million dollars in research grants and has developed an extensive network of research collaborators.

Tyler Robson, B.Sc., CEO of Valens Groworks Corp., serves as Director of Operations at Valens Agritech Inc. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Valens Groworks Corp. from February 2017 to May 2017. As a Master Grower, Mr. Robson provides consulting services on plant genetics, growing methods and leading facility and soil grown techniques that ensures consistently produced medical marijuana of the highest quality.

Yasantha Athukorala, Ph.D., QPIC, has more than 4 years of postdoctoral experience and unique background of Natural Products Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology skills, as well as expertise devising experimental techniques and analytical methods to solve complex research problems.

Andy Dhaliwal is a Marketing graduate with significant experience in project coordination and marketing. The provision of Andy’s expertise includes project management with oil & gas firms, as well as supporting National Directors of the Federal Public Service. In addition, Andy has contributed to the world of digital media via the entrepreneurship@UBC program, through this initiative he has successfully led teams of digital collaborators to deliver engaging web-based content to 30,000 students.
